Charles: A New Creation

I was lost, but now I’m found.
I was hopeless, but now I have hope.

Hello my name is Charles.   I’m 30 years old.   When I was six months old I was adopted.  I have struggled with addiction for 16 years of my life.  I never really knew God loved me as I grew up in a dysfunctional family. Under the circumstances, I began lashing out.  I found it easier for me to disconnect from reality through drugs and alcohol.  I felt hopeless and lost.  I used up and turned away anyone who ever loved me.  So many times I tried to get back on track, but each time it only ended in failure.

However, through our failures, God brings us the greatest victories.  In July 2015 God blessed me with a Proverbs 31 wife.  While I was still struggling with my addictions, my new bride encouraged me to go to Adult & Teen Challenge of Texas.  Since entering Teen Challenge I have grown closer in my walk with the Lord.  The Lord is restoring my relationship with my biological family and is also teaching me how to be a godly man and husband to my wife.  I now understand what God’s unfailing love is all about.  Every day I wake up and give God all of the glory for what He has done and is still doing in my life
