Our Strategy:
- Evangelize, teach, and disciple adults, adolescents, and families impacted by addiction by offering Christ-centered mentoring, education, work experience, life skills, and aftercare services.
- Operate a residential facility and offer support groups in every Texas metropolis with a population over 250,000 people.
- Operate profitable businesses that financially subsidize our programs and services.
- Attract, develop, and empower servant leaders to positions that fulfill their divine call.
- Offer an effective training program for interns and volunteers
History:
In 1958, Pastor David Wilkerson left his small-town church in Pennsylvania to minister to troubled youth in New York City. Burdened by the devastation of addiction, he founded the first Teen Challenge Center to offer hope and freedom from gangs and drugs. His work grew into a global movement, now with over 1,000 campuses in 90 countries.
Teen Challenge came to Texas in 1968 with the opening of the San Antonio men’s campus. Today, Adult & Teen Challenge of Texas operates multiple men’s and women’s programs, adolescent programs, and re-entry services across the state, admitting 600 students annually. Through Christ-centered recovery, the ministry continues to transform lives.
