New Hope Christian Academy gets help from Chi Alpha to complete several campus projects
Thank you again to Chi Alpha. Chi Alpha student ministries has recently sent missions teams from different universities to some of the Adult & Teen Challenge of Texas campuses including our new adolescent boys campus, New Hope Christian Academy (NHCA).
As NHCA has been working hard in preparation for their first group of adolescent boys to reside on their campus soon, Chi Alpha has come alongside NHCA to help complete several campus projects. The Chi Alpha missions team helped turned one big dorm into four dorms. They framed out walls, hung drywall, and put insulation in the rooms. Some of the Chi Alpha students scraped off old wall paper, while others painted the classroom and in the trailer house. They also demolished five closets to create more floor space for the boys dorm and common rooms.
“These guys were a huge help and it was truly my pleasure to host them,” said New Hope Christian Academy Director, Desmond Atkins.
Adult & Teen Challenge of Texas has planned and prepared for two years to open a campus to serve teens and NHCA will be the first Teen Challenge adolescent program for boys in the state of Texas. Many residents in our adult programs admit to beginning their substance abuse in their adolescence. We understand that it is best to intervene at the onset of addiction or other behavioral problems in order to prevent a lifetime of hardships.
New Hope Christian Academy (NHCA) located in Bastrop, Texas, 30 miles southeast of Austin, is a residential discipleship and academic program for adolescent boys, ages 12-17 years old. NHCA assists teens and their families who are struggling with an addiction or an emotional, social, behavioral, or spiritual struggle through a year long, 5 phase program.
